Namika La or Namika Pass is a mountain pass between Kargil and Leh. One of the highest in the region, this pass is at an altitude of 3,700 m or 12,198 feet. So that means
- Slightly over 10 times the height of Eiffel Tower
- 8 times the height of the The Great Pyramid of Giza
- 8.5 times the height of Empire State Building
- 7 times the height of One World Trade Center
- 4.5 times the height of Burj Khalifa
When on a road trip, the itinerary is flexible. It means stopping any where and for as long as the heart desires. Our Ladakh road trip was our first long trip. Along the way, we stopped at a lot of places to soak in the beauty of the cold desert. Passes were our favorite pit stop.
Mountain passes are beautiful and usually adorned with prayer flags. These flags add colors and life to the mountains. At the Namika La, we took a break and this is what a beautiful memory looked like.

Linking up with Esha and Natasha for Wordless Wednesday and this is #101 on this blog.
Awesome Parul:) 10 times higher than Eiffel tower amazing, and I like the comparisons you have made, interesting post.

Those are some fun facts.
Ladakh is on my to go list. But I wish to go and see the snow leopard and other wildlife there. Fings and toes crossed.
Thank you Parul for joining us for #WW.
Have a good week going forth.

It seems fun and mind-blowing at the same time when you mention the location height that way.

A beautiful picture indeed! I have heard of the other famous cousins of this pass but it certainly looks no less interesting! 🙂
