“I am in awe of flowers. Not because of their colors, but because even though they have dirt in their roots, they still grow. They still bloom.” – D. Antoinette Foy
Temple Tree also knows as Frangipani or Plumeria would be one of the first few trees I have known and learnt to recognize. We had one right outside my grandparents’ house and its blooms would fall in our garden. I would pick up the flower, pluck petals one after the other and soak in the fragrance as a kid.
Then a few years ago, I bought a small one in a pot and I loved having it at home. But lack of sunlight and care killed it. I do think one day, I will get another and have it in my balcony which now gets sufficient light.
Until then, I am happy to enjoy when I spot one outdoors.
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on August 26, 2021. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

I have never knowingly seen this tree, or smelled its fragrance. I like to think of dirt as a lifegiver, and sometimes, as part of a historic site, I am amazed that people will travel miles just to be able to walk on it. Here’s my post, about a tree that witnessed music history in 1969: https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2021/08/the-message-tree-thursdaytreelove.html

Temple tree is a fitting name for this tree. It looks like it’s reaching to heaven. The leaves reminde me of magnolia leaves, though the flowers are much more delicate. Very beautiful! The Plumeria is so lovely! We too have a couple on our apartment and i love the fragrance of the pretty blooms that come every once in a while. That memory your shared is so precious, Parul. So much to love about the trees around us, right? So grateful that we have a variety of them in Bangalore to admire and enjoy.
Sharing my tree post today—its from one of our travels a couple of years ago.

Beautiful tree and even more beautiful memory, Parul! I hope it is someday soon that you have a Temple Tree of your very own, but in the meantime thank you for sharing the loveliness with everyone.
As usual, while I managed to post on the day, I completely spaced sharing it here until now…
