It’s the season of Gulmohar trees (May flower tree) and their red blooms. All around Bangalore, the trees have turn red and the sight is beautiful. Soon as the monsoon arrives, the trees would shed the flowers so I am soaking in the beauty around. You have all seen this tree. It is right outside my apartment complex but every year when it blooms, it looks different and beautiful in a new way.
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on July 13, 2023. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

This is a beautiful tree that I’ve seen only in pictures, as it is not hardy where I live. I’d love to see it in person one day. Here’s my link: https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2023/06/the-beauty-of-linden-thursdaytreelove.html

Yes, maybe India’s climate is supportive of the tree’s growth and blooms. Thanks Vinitha. You know it’s never late here 🙂

Such a beautiful and flowery gulmohur tree. I had once shared a post on it and then only did i realised its name is Royal poinciana. The striking red among the evergreen leaves is a pleasant sight. I even rememebr spotting “love below a gulmohar tree” a poetry book once.

There are very few trees that look as stunning as a blooming Gulmohar! Such a beautiful shot, Parul! Aren’t we Bangaloreans lucky to have these trees in our city still, despite the way thoughtless urbanisation is changing so much of what used to be once an inseparable part of bangalore? I think we need to grow more of them now.

Couldn’t agree more with what you said, Esha. Both about the blooming Gulmohar and the ill effects of urbanisation.
