“Be proud of your scars. They remind you that you have the will to live.” -Paulo Coelho
I was in my neighborhood recently to run an errand and I spotted this tree. Very tall and in a residential area, I couldn’t believe how tall this was. Slightly leaning but strong and straight as if staying put through the life around. This was a Coniferous tree though I couldn’t get which one. I wonder how come this one grows in my city where it never snows. Strange, isn’t it?

I think that tree would look a little out of place as an urban street tree even where I live in the Northeast United States, but it does look like it’s doing OK where it is. Your quote today speaks to me. Here’s my contribution https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2023/08/japanese-pagoda-library-tree.html Alana ramblinwitham

This is a remarkable tree. It really stands out… and up! I like the quote too. We have coniferous trees here in southeastern US where it has not snowed in years, and even further south. Yes, strange indeed. It grows in Pune as well and seems happy enough but never seen cones on it. People even grow it indoors in pots. Locally, its always called the Christmas Tree but I read somewhere that it is a variety of Araucaria. Here is my tree https://yenforblue.blogspot.com/2023/08/do-trees-have-emotions-thursdaytreelove.html

Blessed to see them in ample in Nilgiris. Agree, they dont easily grow in cities. I’m sure its the love and care of that person who planted it and is nurturing that it now looks tall and handsme on the street. Seems to be Araucaria species of coniferous trees.
