“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”
― Maya Angelou
The Indian Institute of Science is VT’s alma mater. For two months in 2009, I also did my research at the institute. Since we live in Bangalore where the institute is, we don’t leave a chance to visit it when possible. Last weekend, we had lunch at the campus and then I clicked this tree to remind myself that all roads lead to home. Home that the institute was once.
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature on this blog hosted on 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The next edition will be live on August 8, 2019. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

Since I grew up around IISC, this was my playground as a child. My friends and I used to wander around the lush gardens here and admire the plethora of flowers and other fauna. Such a gorgeous place! Still is, but it has been a while since I went there. Maybe soon.
My post is now live: http://www.lifeofleo.in/2019/07/brianna-thursdaytreelove-2.html 🙂

Wow! What a great thought to think of your alma mater as home!! Most old institutions in Pune have grand old trees growing in their campus’ I am sure that must be the case in other cities as well.. Here is my tree https://yenforblue.blogspot.com/2019/07/dancing-trees-thursdaytreelove.html

What a gorgeous tree…Wow! To have the IISC as one’s alma mater must feel so special. I love the sprawling campus of IISC. Was there once in September 2009 when a friend had invited us for a family function. You couldn’t have chosen a better quote to go with the image, Parul! Perfect, in every way.
Here’s my #TTL post for this fortnight:

It is a majestic tree. The sight of old trees in Bangalore make the city score over Delhi for me. I haven’t been to IISc but even the roads outside in that area have huge and old trees.

Is home also where the heart is? What a lovely tree. I love seeing campuses with trees. Somehow they seem so peaceful and calm compared to educational institutes that are confined to buildings in urban spaces….( building blocks rather than sprawled out buildings in a campus if you know what I mean)

Beautiful photo and quote, Parul! I love that campus and have hundreds of photos of the various trees there! My son studied on the campus school and we would love to go to the restaurant there – the samosas and coffee are fabulous. More recently, he has been doing his summer projects there. So great to be associated with the institution this way.
