#ThursdayTreeLove – 78

“Ester asked why people are sad.
“That’s simple,” says the old man. “They are the prisoners of their personal history. Everyone believes that the main aim in life is to follow a plan. They never ask if that plan is theirs or if it was created by another person. They accumulate experiences, memories, things, other people’s ideas, and it is more than they can possibly cope with. And that is why they forget their dreams.”

ThursdayTreeLove – 78

In 2015, we were in Hong Kong during the Holiday season. VT was there for work and I was visiting. I had never seen a city so beautifully decorated for Christmas. The shops were lit, the streets were welcoming and at every nook, there was a Christmas Tree.

This tree was the biggest that I had seen that season and was in the Ocean Park. Today’s edition is the last of the year and I want to leave you with wishes for a great 2020. I am grateful that through #ThursdayTreeLove, I know you all. My heart is full.

Thursday Tree love is a photo feature on this blog hosted on 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The next edition will be the first of 2020 and will go live on January 9, 2020. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.

If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

  1. what a wonderful quote from Paulo Cohelo. I’m impressed with what it tries to impress upon all of us. So true…we are prisoners of our experiences, memories, and thoughts!
Thanks for hosting and connecting everyone through TTL! Hope 2020 is awesome for you.

  2. I just spotted a very pretty Christmas tree made entirely of planters of poinsetta – the idea was to save a tree and just present the idea of an Xmas tree- it was huge and just gorgeous – I didnt click its pic as there were just too many people about for me to take a good pic. This tree reminded me of that and I just have to say that there is something warm and pleasing about such a tree on Xmas!! It reflects so much love and warmth of the season!!

Happy to be with you on the last edition of the blog hop for 2019 and see you in 2020. Wish you a very happy new year and loads of blessings for the times ahead XOXO

    1. Wow! That must have been lovely, Shalini! It’s okay if you couldn’t click a picture. Sometimes I feel clicking a picture feels like a task when I can soak it all in only by admiring 🙂
      Thanks for joining!

  3. Oh no! Did I forget to link up the last time? That makes me sad. Here’s the link from Dec 18th. https://iamchandralynn.com/2019/12/18/oh-christmas-tree-wordlesswednesday/.

I had planned to get out to the tinsel trail and share this year’s trees today, but I won’t get to them till the weekend, so here’s a post with some pics from the Christmas tree on display at our university’s Christmas party: https://iamchandralynn.com/2019/12/18/oh-christmas-tree-wordlesswednesday/.

  4. Something strange is going on with my comments. My first one did not appear. I lamented that I must have forgotten to provide link for my first December tree love post. Now, I see I probably did share it, but the comment didn’t post. Anyway, here’s the link for my Dec 12 tree love: https://iamchandralynn.com/2019/12/12/thursdaytreelove-naked-tree-and-first-snow/

And for today’s I’m sharing a post from our faculty and staff Christmas party–shots of the Christmas tree. I’d intended to capture some live trees from our local tinsel trail, but I probably won’t get to that till the weekend, so here goes… https://iamchandralynn.com/2019/12/18/oh-christmas-tree-wordlesswednesday/

    Merry Christmas!

  5. I was in a dilemma about which tree to post. 🙂 I wrote a few paras about one, only to realize i had taken pics only of its branches. 🙂 But we’re never short on trees, are we? So like last time, I just clubbed it with the gratitude circle post. Thank you so much for hosting this Parul. I always have a wonderful feeling about it, whether or not I participate.

That quote at the beginning of your post is just so beautiful. The tree is fantastic. Almost looks like it is made of chocolate. Hugs!
