#ThursdayTreeLove – 92

“Gardens are not made by singing ‘Oh, how beautiful!’ and sitting in the shade.” ― Rudyard Kipling

ThursdayTreeLove – 92

A few years ago, VT took up the Oxfam (for the 2nd time) and I spotted this tree on the last leg of the 100 kms that he was gunning to finish. What I loved was the shade in that heat of the day and that man you see on the left – isn’t a man. It was a scarecrow. Scenes from the life in the rural India are beautiful. These are the villages of India that we don’t call the ‘countryside’.

Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on August 13, 2020. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.

If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

  1. That quote is just so apt and yes thats a scarecrow – his stance gave that away 🙂 I love how gorgeously proportioned this tree is- huge thick canopy and standing so tall and proud. Trees fill me up with an insane delight too and I cant have enough of them around me. The countryside is very much a part of the landscape in Gurgaon as its an agricultural area primarily. Add the lush forest-side to that as well as many part here have protected forest zones in patches. I am very lucky to live in one such corner of Gurgaon and dont think I ever want to move from here.

      1. Thank you, Natasha. I have been with Vikas twice when he took the Oxfam and each time I have loved the challenge it is. I also want to take it once. Let’s see when I can do that. Thank you for joining!

  2. I really thought that was a man. That scarecrow looks life-like from afar. I hope VT had a good run on that day. Beautiful capture of the tree, Parul. Your enthusiasm for nature shines through with each tree shot. Hope you are doing well.
