International Blog Delurking Week – 2019

A new blog post is born. She is happy to be online and excited to meet her readers. She knows some will love her and some will like her. Some will play their usual part. Which goes like below –

‘Knock knock’

‘Who’s there?’

***Silence***

If you have been around, you know what I am talking about. Don’t you?

This week you are not allowed to lurk. You cannot knock and leave. Please don’t knock and leave. I would love for you to say hello and tell me that you were here. And you know I don’t ask this all the time. Only once a year, don’t be a number on my stats.

Give me a chance to say thank you to you for reading.

So like 20162017 and 2018, I am asking you to not just leave once you finish reading this post. Take it a step further, use the comment box below and say anything that you like. Tell me the name of the city and country you are visiting me from. I would love to know that.

If you are someone who loves to go the extra mile, tell me how you landed on this page. May be I would get to know what platform works.

When you stop by to comment, I will be able to match up how many people are actually reading this post. Once a year, that’s how I get to know who my real readers are.

Just a simple way to make me smile. You would like that, won’t you?

International Blog Delurking Week – 2019 is here.

Linking up with MicroblogMondays #228 this week. If you are a blogger and would like to join any time during the week, feel free to use the badge above and I promise I won’t lurk.

  2. Hi Parul. I am not a lurker, never have been one and you know that. I have known you for a couple of years. The first time we met was at Forum Mall in April, 2015. I have now forgotten the date which is not like me or may be it was 20th April. I find my way to your blog through the common Facebook groups, email alerts and sometimes just like that by typing happinessandfood.com in the address bar.
Also, joining you with my post.

    1. You are so sweet Anamika. Thank you for being around always. It means a lot and I know you understand:) I can’t remember the date we first met but it was such a good day. Vinitha and You were the first bloggers I met. 🙂 I’m glad we are connected. Can’t believe it’s almost 4 years.

  3. Hiya Parul, It was a pleasure meeting you last November!

I don’t ever lurk on your blog because we have the BAR connection, but I do lurk on others’, sometimes because i’m too pressed for time, at others because I can’t think of anything to say just then. In which case, I’ll just drop a like, and share the post on twitter. For this week, I’ll try and comment on as many blogs as I can! Thanks for setting this up–I’ll be doing my post and linking up soon.

  4. Hi Parul; Blog Delurking Week is a great idea, which I’ve been reading about for a few years, now., This time, I am actually writing a post for it! 😀 (Will link back here when it’s finished.) There never seems to be enough time to comment on as many blogs as we would like to and live a full life in the physical world at the same time. That said, comments are the life’s blood of every blogger and it’s always a pleasure to find some, after putting forth all of one’s efforts, yes? Here’s to meeting more followers and blogging friends as time goes on. Thanks for keeping this tradition alive. Cheers!

    1. Debbie, hi, I wanted you to know that I’m being blocked from accessing your blog by something called “Wordfence”. I don’t know what I did wrong? I wish I could comment on your delurking post but I can’t. I hope none of your other fans are being blocked, either.

      1. I’m so sorry you experienced that, Alana! 😦 That’s the security program that usually keeps out all the nasty spammers from China and Russia. I just saw it needed an update and I did that, so hopefully, it will be okay now. Do you have the time to try again? Thanks for the warning!

  5. Hey Parul, you know me. We connected at the BAR and then on we found so many connections – our nicknames to begin with. We haven’t met yet but I love the positivity that comes from you.

  6. Ha ha, I saw your social media post about delurking week and I must say I was intrigued. What is delurking? Glad I stumbled upon your post today and I agree with you about delurking. I meet many people who come to me and say we love reading your posts. I am stunned because I never see them leaving any comment. BTW, I am a bit of a delurker too when I am feeling super lazy, however after reading your post I understand how bad it feels. No more delurking from my side. BTW, I am Anshu, firsttimemommy from Mumbai.

  11. This reminds me I am reading you for a year now. I found this blog last year during the delurking week and ever since I have dropped by to read all that you share. I must say I enjoy reading your gratitude posts and I comment whenever I make time to read blogs which was low during the last 3 months. Glad to be back on track. Happy New Year Parul. ❤️🌹

  12. Hey, Parul! Here’s another regular at happinessandfood.com. 🙂 Yours is one of my fav blogs and one that I almost regularly visit and comment on. I think you are one of the earliest bloggers that I met through WT four years ago and it’s been wonderful to have met you in person both the times that we did. Cheers to more stories, pictures and more meetings over hot ginger chai in 2019, too! 🙂
    P. S. Would love to join in with my post in a day or two.

  13. I’m new to the bloggersphere and found your blog a few days ago. I just started a food blog about my ventures in learning to cook (https://thegourmetgall.com) and stumbled upon your blog while looking for inspiration for my own. I’ve only tuned into a few of your posts but I am loving your prose.

  14. First time visiting. I got here via Mel’s linky thingie. I rarely post any comments, nor do I have a blog. I usually leave especially quickly when lurkers are asked to comment. I dunno what it was about your post, but here I am. Visiting from NC.

  15. Sometimes a lurker, but not a stranger. Though I have to say I read all your posts, even when I don’t comment. But I promise to do better with the commenting too in the coming year!

  16. Came here through Write Tribe as I heard delurking for the first time. Initially when I started blogging I would visit other blogs but not leave any comments. However, over the years I realised that if I want comments on my blog it is good to leave comments on other blogs as well. Though I dont visit much on your blog but I still make it a point to read your post whenever and whereever I come across them. Also, sometimes I leave a comment. Still working on this though! Wish you a happy new taer and a fantastic year ahead 🙂

  17. I’m a lurker from Mel’s Microblog Monday. I usually only comment on blogs when I feel I have something to contribute. Often times I just ingest what I read and continue on my way. I am writing to you from Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. 🙂

  18. Came here by way of Linky Tools, as I run many blog hops of different themes, and also a directory for other link parties to add their links.
This particular visit came from the damyantiwrites blog, and I thought it was a cool idea, and I also have never heard the term delurking before lol!
I do not want to spam you with my link, but if anyone else is interested in linking one of their blog parties to the directory, please feel free to visit me, and look for the HopinCropin link.

And now I am going to subscribe to your lovely blog ❤

  19. Hi Parul, I am one of your Thursday Tree Love regulars, and I’ve also been participating in International Blog Delurking Week for (I think) the last four years. I live in the Binghamton area of upstate New York. I enjoyed reading some of the comments you received. Yes, Reading is a real city (it is pronounced “redding”) although it’s been years since I’ve shopped in their outlet malls. And, I discovered you are hosting this meme now and I went ahead and plugged Thursday Tree Love on my delurking post.

  20. Hello 🙂 Definitely not a lurker 😉 But I may have been less regular in the past year than before. I shall aim to rectify that in 2019, since that’s one of my core purposes for the year.

I love your travel stories, your tree pictures, your candid portraits and your gratitude posts. Thanks for spreading happiness and joy with your blog and of course, always always glad to meet you in person.

  27. Hi. I am a long-time blogger (thefeministgrandma.typepad.com), but new to the world of blogging groups – just found Women in Midlife. That led me to Ramblinwitham.blogspot.com, which led me to you. I really enjoy your blog – don’t know if it’s too late to respond to this anti-lurking post. But I wanted to know about guest-blogging. I have a post called Trees that I’d love to share on ThursdayTreeLove. Is it ok if I’ve already posted it a few years back? And if so – how would I put it on Happiness and Food – just send the link or what? I’m in Gainesville Fl USA. (I’ve just subscribed to yours)

On your question, I loved that you reached out and would like to join. So even if the post is old, just leave the comment on the last post – https://www.happinessandfood.com/thursdaytreelove-58 which your post’s link. Does that work?
