“Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.”
― Helen Keller
Sometimes when I spot something, I wonder how much of what I see is real. What I don’t know is if appearance is equivalent to the truth. Like this tree that I spotted in Jaisalmer. We meet people who may or may not be as they show up. What appears beautiful in life could be an illusion. It could also be the angle from where you are looking at. Exactly how the yellow in this tree was enhanced by the Sun rays that were falling on it. And then the angle from where I stood and clicked.
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature on this blog hosted on 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The next edition will be live on August 23, 2018. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.
Before you go, don’t forget to check the lovely trees shared on #ThursdayTreeLove – 44:
- Archana shares a unique tree from Kolkatta called the Mad tree
- Angela shares a huge tree from Hyderabad
- Esha’s giant Aloe from South Africa

Things aren’t always what they seem. I remember once owning a pair of rose tinted glasses and believe me colours looked different through these lenses. Golden leaves – how beautiful. Is this during the autumn season?

Ha! Rose tinted glasses won’t make the world rosy. They say that, don’t they? 🙂 This was winter in Rajasthan.

Hellen Keller is an inspiring person, all her quotes are very good , and yes we see certain aspects of people, love the way you interpreted your observation. The tree looks grand on one side with sun light falling; and the other side green:) what I see is not the only reality ….there’s always more than one perception. I love this capture of the various shades. We all look at things from our angle and sometimes forget there are other angles, other realities. I had issues posting from my computer so am hoping this works.

BTW, the golden sunshine in winters is a great way to get a stunning portrait in jaiselmer. It beats any studio portrait. We experienced it at Gadisar an hour before sunset. The sunlight was awesome.

Yeah – may be I caught that unknowingly. Gadisar is sure an unique experience.

Oh yes, Parul. Often times, what we see is not how it is really….As in, impressions can be deceptive.

They can be deceptive for sure.

This is beautiful – the two colours gold and green are so distinct. Loved what you said too – truth and illusion are tough to distinguish sometimes.
