“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.”
― Abraham Lincoln
I spotted this blooming Gulmohar (May flower) tree in my neighborhood. It was a Sunday and I wanted to buy some vegetables. So as we walked to the shop, I noticed this tree. A classic case of looking for beauty around the world when it’s right under your nose. I was amazed at the size of the tree and that it was such perfectly located making it unnoticeable.
Have you had such moments too?

Gulmohar trees are beautiful. My take on Abraham Lincoln’s quote is “Folks will be as much happy as many trees they get to see.” I have a bark to share for my Thursday Tree Love post. Here is my link – https://thebespectacledmother.com/2019/05/09/an-art-installation-thursdaytreelove/

We usually do not have such nicetropical trees here usually except in our botanical garden of Berlin, but today I would like to share some strange pine trees with an interesting story:

A tree that would not withstand the climate of where I live – they are beautiful, and I agree you can find beauty hidden in plain sight. Here’s mine – in memory of my husband’s 107 year old aunt, who passed away yesterday. https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2019/05/cherry-blossoms-and-lifes-end.html

I love seeing how people co-exist with trees in cities. This one makes me imagine the vast root systems underground. Here’s my offering: https://joannaoftheforest.wordpress.com/2019/05/09/thursday-tree-love-redbuds/

Currently I have so many Gulmohar pictures in my album. Just enamoured by their stunning hues. The other day during our morning walk, we lay on our back watching the blooms merging with the sky above. Surreal so to speak.
Lovely shot, Parul.

I agree. However, this summer when I was up North I saw many Gulmohar trees. I think it’s India and the season. 🙂

Possibly, yes. Although it is found in Rajasthan but not in huge numbers. I’m not sure about UP and Haryana. I have only seen them in huge numbers in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
