“Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, relationship, home… it’s your responsibility to love it, or change it.”
– Chuck Palahniuk
I spotted this Neem tree on the road to home last month. It was a simple village scene but made me smile. The sweltering heat, cow beneath this tree’s shade posing at the camera, and that guy looking some where oblivious to the action. To me, this was simplicity of life. A place where the rush of life takes on a different meaning.

A large hearted tree that provides shade for everyone.. I love the way the man and the cow have made space for each other in the limited shady area. Great capture Parul. Here is my tree https://yenforblue.blogspot.com/2019/05/fragrant-stars-thursdaytreelove.html

Shade is such a welcome thing in the hot weather. We depend so much on trees for our happiness, as do the animals who share our world. Your quote spoke right to me and my situation right now. A picture that depicts the rustic life in rural landscape. Neem tree is ubiquitous in large parts of India. In many ways, it is symbolic of the strong associations it shares with our lives.

This is a sight of a Neem tree for me after a long long time. Neem is a medicinal tree with many uses. Its fruit called Nimbodi in Hindi (or something like that) the bitter paste of which was given to me to eat and apply locally on the annually occuring foda-fulsi in the monsoon season. It was terrible for a child to endure.
The simplcity of the village scene is, trust me, only from the outside. The village people too lead a complicated life, only the complications are different from ours. And this I can say for having a close relationship with my father’s village for the most part of my life.

Interesting insight. I never got a chance to visit or stay in a village. So they have always been a place I wanted to go. I agree that there are complications all around. the levels are different.
Gosh, that paste must have been bitter but I am sure it healed. That’s how good Neem is. I know of the Datun 🙂
Thank you Anamika for linking up and sharing thoughts. Always helps to know more.
